Welcome Back to Term 2
A Positive Start to 2026

Welcome back and Happy New Year 2026. As Week 15 concludes and we begin Term 2, it has been a pleasure to see pupils return settled, smiling and ready to learn. The sense of renewed purpose across the school following the winter holidays has been very encouraging and we look forward to another successful term together.

Welcoming New Pupils

We are delighted to welcome many new pupils and their families who have joined our school community this term. Settling into a new school can be both exciting and challenging. We are grateful for the kindness and inclusion shown by our pupils and families in helping new children feel part of Aldenham life.

Parent Information Session – KS3 Science

Earlier this week, Mrs S. Choudhury, Head of Science, led a Parent Information Session on Biology and human reproduction and how this is taught sensitively and appropriately in Key Stage 3. Although attendance was small, the session itself was excellent, with thoughtful questions and positive engagement from the parents who attended.

Community Events to Look Forward To

There are many exciting events ahead this term. We are looking forward to the Great Aldenham Bake Off on 18ᵗʰ January, with further details to be shared shortly.

We are also proud to support participation in the Riyadh Marathon on 31ˢᵗ January 2026, in partnership with our wonderful Aldenham School Parents’ Association. This is a fantastic opportunity to promote fitness, wellbeing and community spirit. We encourage families to get involved where possible.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

Our commitment to enrichment continues this term. CCAs will begin next week, offering pupils opportunities to explore interests, develop confidence and build teamwork skills beyond the classroom. We are also excited to share that details of an optional ski trip to Verbier, Switzerland will be announced to parents via the Newsletter this week. The trip is planned for the end of March 2026 and promises to be a memorable experience for participating pupils.

Reading and the School Library

We are pleased to share that Ms Viola Juplo has taken on responsibilities as School Librarian. We are grateful for her willingness to step into this role as we continue to strengthen the library as a central hub for reading, research and learning across the school.

Teaching Responsibility and Care

As a school community, we work together to help pupils understand right from wrong, including the importance of keeping the school clean and tidy. Clear and consistent expectations help children develop respect, pride and a strong sense of responsibility for their environment.

Looking Ahead

Thank you for your continued trust, support and partnership. Term 2 brings new opportunities and much to look forward to, and we are very grateful to work with such a supportive and engaged parent community. We look forward to a positive and rewarding term ahead.
